“It’s always darkest before the dawn.” – Thomas Fuller
Katie began writing at the age of five when she debuted her crayon-illustrated novel about her dog’s adventure in a snowstorm. At a young age, she learned that there is great power in words: power that helps connect people and emotions. From there, Katie wrote about everything and anything.
While attending Central Michigan University (CMU) to study integrative public relations and journalism, Katie hustled to build her experience and portfolio. She worked for the university’s communications department as an intern, writing stories and features for online and print publications. She served as both a general member and as vice president of the university’s chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA,) and also as the editor-in-chief for the CMU chapter of Her Campus, rated the number one online magazine for college women.
After graduating from CMU in 2015, Katie set out to find ways to keep her fingers moving and thoughts flowing. She knew her true passion was writing, so she wanted to find a way to put her skills to good use. That’s how she ended up with mConnexions.
With strategic branding, digital marketing, and content creation at the core of mConnexions, storytelling is vital, and that’s what Katie does. She works closely with clients to capture their brand voice, mission, messaging and work, bringing them all to life through words.
Katie lives for her dog, Luna, good books and cold Moscow Mules. If it weren’t for adult responsibilities, she could be found lakeside in a hammock from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., writing and napping.
